"LID has provided a place of support and mentorship that I needed to not only get into the school of education, but to be a leader on campus by becoming an RA. One “wall” I had to get over was the Praxis Core. I did not pass it the first time around but I passed it the second time. I learned from that experience that anyone can learn, all it takes is help. LID provided staff to tutor me so I would be able to pass the praxis core. I learned that sometimes the difference between success and failure isnt what you could not do but what other’s did do for you. I look at LID as a lake soon to be an ocean of resources that will help students especially students of color, become equipped to lead the next generation into a brighter future. As a black male in this society I am proud to say I am heading in a different direction. "

"This is my second year with LID. I got involved with LID to have opportunities in discussing, advancing, and advocating for social justice, education equity, and multicultural education with a network of peers and mentors. LID gives me opportunities and support to learn and grow as an educator. "
